Look at where shelter dollars can responsibly be redirected toward permanent supportive housing that reduces shelter demand over time.

Partner with non-profits and other housing providers rather than expecting the City to do everything itself.

Create more housing that allows seniors to stay in their communities, including mixed-age and intergenerational housing.

Toronto should be a city we’re actually allowed to enjoy.
LEGALIZE DRINKING IN ALL PARKS
Move beyond a limited list of designated parks and allow responsible alcohol consumption more broadly.
MAKE STREET VENDING MORE THAN DOGS
Simple permits and sensible location rules. No quotas, expensive location fees or over-designed pilot programs.
MORE PLACES TO SIT, GATHER AND HANG OUT
Revitalize public gathering spaces; add seating, shade and other simple things that make public spaces actually usable.
CREATE MORE PEDESTRIAN SPACES
Look at places like Kensington Market, Church Street and Queen West for more permanent or regular pedestrian streets.
PAINT THE GARDNER TORONTO
Expand the sports-themed painted columns under the Gardiner to celebrate all of Toronto’s home teams including TFC, Argos, Sceptres, Tempo and more to bring colour and life to dark underpasses.
CREATE SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD ZONES
Expand 30 km/h zones downtown and in dense neighbourhoods, backed by safer street design and enforcement to make Vision Zero actually work.
STOP OVER-REGULATING GOOD IDEAS
Not everything needs a highly controlled pilot program before Toronto can try it. Provide guidance not control.
BUSINESS, CULTURE & NIGHTLIFE
Make Toronto easier to start something in and more fun when you leave the house.
MAKE ROOM FOR SMALL BUSINESSES IN NEW DEVELOPMENT
Push for the planning authority to shape retail space in major developments so we’re not left with enormous storefronts that only banks, pharmacies and big chains can afford.
MAKE STREET VENDING MORE THAN DOGS
Use creative programs and partnerships to help new independent businesses get established.
MAKE NIGHTLIFE EASIER
Fix unnecessary rules that make it difficult to open and operate music, entertainment and nightlife venues.

Help music venues, arts spaces and other cultural institutions survive as neighbourhoods become more expensive.

Encourage all-electric buildings, heat pumps, rooftop solar, battery storage and other low-emission technologies.
PUT CLIMATE INTO EVERY CAPITAL DECISION
Line up Toronto’s asset-management plans with our net-zero targets so replacing a building, boiler, roof or vehicle also becomes an opportunity to cut emissions.

RAISE TORONTO’S INVESTMENT INCOME
Investment income is roughly 2% of City revenues. Responsibly grow that share and explore a Toronto Future Fund to create more recurring revenue.
SHIFT SPENDING TOWARD BETTER OUTCOMES
Look across major City budgets for places where money can move from repeatedly managing problems toward actually reducing them.
RENEW THE CITY WE ALREADY HAVE
Tackle the infrastructure backlog in transit, roads, water systems, public housing and other City assets before deterioration becomes even more expensive.
FIX WHAT WE HAVE FIRST
Put maintenance and state-of-good-repair ahead of lower-priority expansion we can’t afford to maintain.
GET TORONTO A BETTER DEAL
Push Ottawa and Queen’s Park for more predictable funding that reflects Toronto’s contribution to the Canadian economy.

Publish clear budgets, timelines and progress updates so people can actually see what’s late or over budget.

Look at administration, duplication, procurement and service delivery before automatically reaching for broad new tax increases.
STANDING UP FOR TORONTO
When provincial rules or interference hold Toronto back, we’ll push to change them.
A NEW FISCAL DEAL FOR TORONTO
Push for access to broader revenue tools, including a share of sales or income taxes, so City revenues better match the responsibilities we’ve been given.
LET TORONTO BENEFIT WHEN TORONTO HOSTS
Negotiate a share of the additional tax revenue major concerts, sporting events and other events generate when Toronto provides the infrastructure and services to host them.
RESTORE LOCAL PLANNING AUTHORITY
Give Toronto more control over how and where density happens instead of having so many planning decisions dictated or overturned by Queen’s Park.
REFORM THE ONTARIO LAND TRIBUNAL
Give Toronto’s democratically adopted planning decisions much greater weight and reduce the ability to simply go around City Council.
BRING BACK STRONGER COMMUNITY BENEFITS
Restore greater flexibility to secure parks, affordable housing, recreation and other neighbourhood improvements when major developments add density.
A REAL CHARTER FOR TORONTO
Give Canada’s largest city greater fiscal and legislative authority and make it clearer what City Hall, Queen’s Park and Ottawa are each actually responsible for.
LET TORONTO SOLVE TORONTO’S PROBLEMS
If we’re going to hold City Hall responsible for housing, transportation, infrastructure and quality of life, give us the tools to actually do something about them.
