Modernize outdated switches, improve signal priority, review unnecessarily restrictive operating speeds and fix chronic bottlenecks.
MAKE THE TTC EASIER TO USE
Improve way-finding, real-time information and accessibility across the TTC , including more indoor and outdoor seating at stations and stops.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE FIRST
Improve reliability and frequency and take better care of the system we already have. Better coordinate road, utility, TTC and development construction.
EXPAND BRT WHERE IT WORKS
Use bus rapid transit selectively on busy corridors where it can meaningfully improve speed and reliability.
MOVE SOME DELIVERIES OUT OF RUSH HOUR
Encourage appropriate nighttime and off-hour deliveries to reduce truck traffic during the busiest periods.
INTEGRATE THE ISLAND FERRIES WITH THE TTC
Bring Toronto Island ferries into the TTC/PRESTO fare system, making transfers easier and treating the ferry like part of our public transit network.

Spend more of our effort getting people housed, not just managing the crisis.
BUILD MORE SUPPORTIVE HOUSING
Create permanent housing that connects mental-health, addiction and other supports together in one place.
BRING MENTAL-HEALTH CARE TO PEOPLE WHO NEED IT
Expand ACT (assertive community treatment) teams with Toronto Public Health, hospitals and health partners to bring intensive mental-health, addiction and case-management support.
SHIFT SPENDING TOWARD SOLUTIONS
Look at where shelter dollars can responsibly be redirected toward permanent supportive housing that reduces shelter demand over time.
PARTNER TO GET SUPPORTIVE HOUSING BUILT
Partner with non-profits, health institutions and other housing providers to build and operate supportive housing rather than expecting the City to do everything itself.
HELP PEOPLE STAY HOUSED
Expand affordable housing options and provide earlier support to people at risk of losing their homes, before they end up in the shelter system.
PARKS, STREETS & PUBLIC LIFE
Toronto should be a city we’re actually allowed to enjoy.
LEGALIZE DRINKING IN ALL PARKS
Move beyond a limited list of designated parks and allow responsible alcohol consumption more broadly.
CREATE MORE PEDESTRIAN SPACES
Look at places like Kensington Market, Church Street and Queen West for more permanent or regular pedestrian streets.
MORE PLACES TO SIT, GATHER AND HANG OUT
Revitalize public gathering spaces; add seating, shade and other simple things that make public spaces actually usable.
PAINT THE GARDNER TORONTO
Expand the sports-themed painted columns under the Gardiner to celebrate all of Toronto’s home teams including TFC, Argos, Sceptres, Tempo and more to bring colour and life to dark underpasses.
FILL GAPS IN OUR SIDEWALK NETWORK
Set a city wide goal to reduce the number of streets without sidewalks, prioritizing connections to transit, schools, parks and other community destinations.
CREATE SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD ZONES
Expand 30 km/h zones downtown and in dense neighbourhoods, backed by safer street design and enforcement to make Vision Zero actually work.
BUSINESS, CULTURE & NIGHTLIFE
Make Toronto easier to start something in and more fun when you leave the house.
MAKE ROOM FOR SMALL BUSINESSES IN NEW DEVELOPMENT
Push for the planning authority to shape retail space in major developments so we’re not left with enormous storefronts that only banks, pharmacies and big chains can afford.
MAKE STREET VENDING MORE THAN DOGS
Simple permits and sensible location rules. No quotas, expensive location fees or over designed pilot programs.
BRING LIFE BACK TO EMPTY STORE FRONTS
Create programs and partnerships that help new independent businesses use their space, including temporary rent-free space in struggling retails spaces.
MAKE NIGHTLIFE EASIER
Fix unnecessary rules that make it difficult to open and operate music, entertainment and nightlife venues.
PROTECT CULTURAL SPACES
Help music venues, arts spaces and other cultural institutions survive as neighbourhoods become more expensive.
STOP OVER-REGULATING GOOD IDEAS
Simplify unnecessary rules around patios, signage and how businesses use their space. Not every good idea needs a highly controlled pilot program before Toronto can try it.
BRING BACK SOME QUIRKINESS
Toronto doesn’t need every neighbourhood to become the same collection of chains and condo retail.
A GREENER TORONTO
Make climate action part of how we actually build and maintain the city.

Expand green roofs in new development and suitable existing buildings.
RESTORE TORONTO’S GREEN BUILDING POWERS
Fight to restore the City’s ability to require strong Toronto Green Standard measures in new development.
MOVE NEW BUILDINGS TOWARD CLEAN ENERGY
Encourage heat pumps, rooftop solar, battery storage and other low-emission technologies in new development.
MAKE CITY INVESTMENTS GREENER
When the city replaces a building, boiler, roof or vehicle, use it as an opportunity to cut emissions and operating costs.
BUILD FOR HOTTER, WETTER WEATHER
Grow Toronto’s tree canopy, expand shade, stormwater infrastructure and neighbourhood-level improvements that help Toronto prepare for extreme heat and heavier rainfall.

RAISE TORONTO’S INVESTMENT INCOME
Investment income is roughly 2% of City revenues. Responsibly grow that share and explore a Toronto Future Fund to create more recurring revenue.
SHIFT SPENDING TOWARD BETTER OUTCOMES
Look across major City budgets for places where money can move from repeatedly managing problems toward actually reducing them.
RENEW THE CITY WE ALREADY HAVE
Prioritize maintenance and tackle the infrastructure backlog in transit, roads, water systems, public housing and other city assets before deterioration becomes more expensive.
MAKE BIG PROJECTS ACCOUNTABLE
Publish clear budgets, timelines and progress updates so people can actually see what’s late or over budget.
FIND SAVINGS BEFORE ASKING FOR MORE
Look at administration, duplication, procurement and service delivery before automatically reaching for broad new tax increases.
STANDING UP FOR TORONTO
When provincial rules or interference hold Toronto back, we’ll push to change them.
A NEW FISCAL DEAL FOR TORONTO
Push Ottawa and Queen’s Park for more predictable funding and access to broader revenue tools, including a share of sales or income taxes, so City revenues better reflect the responsibilities of Canada’s largest city.
LET TORONTO BENEFIT WHEN TORONTO HOSTS
Negotiate a share of the additional tax revenue major concerts, sporting events and other events generate when Toronto provides the infrastructure and services to host them.
RESTORE LOCAL PLANNING AUTHORITY
Give Toronto more control over how and where density happens instead of having so many planning decisions dictated or overturned by Queen’s Park.
REFORM THE ONTARIO LAND TRIBUNAL
Give Toronto’s democratically adopted planning decisions much greater weight and reduce the ability to simply go around City Council.
BRING BACK STRONGER COMMUNITY BENEFITS
Restore greater flexibility to secure parks, affordable housing, recreation and other neighbourhood improvements when major developments add density.
A REAL CHARTER FOR TORONTO
Give Canada’s largest city greater fiscal and legislative authority and make it clearer what City Hall, Queen’s Park and Ottawa are each actually responsible for.
